As some of you might have heard through the grapevine, de_season will be a part of the mapcycle at 30P LAN.

Since most people don't like the idea of having 6 maps in the pool, de_train will be replaced.
There are many underlying reasons for this particular change. de_train is a map that should have been fixed ages ago.
It is filled with various bugs (not being able to shoot through/under wagons, bug defusing etc.) and it is definitely not fit for a competitive environment.
Furthermore, the organization and other vital voices in the scene felt that the time for a change had come. It is time to spice things up.
Therefore, we give you de_season. It is a pretty big map. No doubt about it. On the other hand, that is a fact that will encourage a whole
new type of gameplay, which is what we are aiming for.
Just to make things clear; de_season will be played in the groupstage. There is no way to dodge it.
All the teams have about 3 months to prepare properly and that should be more than enough.
Hopefully we'll all be able to embrace and enjoy the change in the end!

    In addition to these rules, all entrants will be bound by the 30P Tournament Code of Conduct. Failure to read these rules will not be accepted as an excuse for not following them.

    Tournament Admins

    The Admins for this tournament will be:

    * LAN Admin: Fiskoo

    * Lead Admin: Laiol

    * Admin: MauseR

    Tournament Signup

    This tournament is limited to 32 teams

    * Online team registration must be complete before Sunday 27st February 2011 at 18:00 in order to allow for more accurate seeding.  Teams not signed up by this time will not be guaranteed a place in the tournament.

    * Each team must have a minimum of 5 players signed up before they will be classed as a team, there is no upper limit of players per team.

    * Players who do not signup online by the alloted time will not be allowed to compete.

    Tournament Format

    The tournament will be played with de (demolition) maps only with Group Stages of at least 4 teams followed by Double Elimination. An example of the group stages can be found here and an example of one of the double elimination brackets can be found here.

    Teams receive 3 ranking points for a victory, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss in the group stages.

    * Top 2 teams from each group will enter the winner bracket.

    * The team that ends third in each group will enter the lower bracket

    * The team that finishes last in the group will be eliminated

    Match Format

    The entire tournament will use MR15 rules, with a round time of 1.45 minutes. There is no time limit. Both teams play one map, for 15 (MR15) rounds as both Counter-Terrorist and Terrorist. Matches will be won by the team that scores 16 rounds first. The full 30 rounds will not be played as it will cause delays in the schedule and because prior meetings between the teams will count before round difference in the event of ties.

    Draws

    Draw results are permitted during the group stages of the tournament. During the elimination stage draws will not be permitted.

    In the event of a draw in the elimination stages, the two teams will repeat the map with max rounds 3 and $10,000 start money. If another draw occurs, this will be repeated as often as needed until there is a winner.

    Pausing

    Pausing will be allowed throughout the entire tournament. You are allowed a maximum of 2 server pauses per team, per match, in the event of a player dropping.

    Substitutes can only be used if they have signed up to the tournament and are listed as one of the members for that team.

    The pause will be started at the start of the round. When the player has reconnected and rejoined the team, the game will be un-paused.

    Maps

    The following maps will be used throughout the competition. The group stages will feature set maps whereas the playoff maps will be determined by veto. The map list is as follows:

    Map pool:

    * de_dust2

    * de_inferno

    * de_nuke

    * de_tuscan

    * de_train

    * de_season Download

    * de_contra

  • Group stage maps will be determined by using the veto method:

    Winner bracket (BO3) maps will be determined by using the veto method:

    1. Coin toss will decide which team is Team One (winner) and which is Team Two.

    2. Team One removes one map.

    3. Team Two removes one map.

    4. Team One selects the starting map.

    5. Team Two selects the second map.

    6. Third map will be played if the game is tied after two maps.

    Loser bracket (BO1) map will be determined by using the veto method:

    1. Coin toss will decide which team is Team One (winner) and which is Team Two.

    2. Team Two removes one map.

    3. Team One removes one map.

    4. Team Two removes one map.

    5. Team One removes one map.

    6. Team Two removes one map.

  • 7. Team One decides what map to play.

    Match Scheduling and Server Crashes

    * All team must have all the members they intends to field on the server 5 minutes before the scheduled starting time of the match. If a match is still in progress on your allocated server, await authorisation from an admin before joining the server.

    * The only acceptable excuses for missing the scheduled start of a match are:

    o Network failure

    o Server failure

    o Power failure

    * The admins will advise you of when your match will be played and which server will be used.

    Server Crashes

    * If a server crashes before 3 complete rounds have been played, the game score will be reset to 0-0 and the affected leg of the match will be restarted once the server is available.

    * If the server crashes from the 5th round onwards, the server will be restarted, and game play will resume with the max rounds of the affected leg set to the outstanding rounds to be played. Start money will be $5,000.

    * In the event a server continually crashes the admin will advise you on the procedure and may require you to move to a different server tgo complete the game.

    Cheating & Exploits

    All forms of cheating are strictly prohibited – any player found to be cheating will forfeit the current match for their team and be removed from all 30P tournaments for the duration of the event, in accordance with the 30P Cheating policy.  If a clan breaks a rule without the admin noticing, they are still liable for the consequences, in addition to the 30P tournament code of conduct rules the following examples are specific to CSS.

    Default Skins/Models/Files/Maps

    * 30P LAN GUI will be used together with mat_dxlevel 81.

    * Any programs or files, be they changed CS:S files or new files, that change CS:S or add to its functionality, or that interact with CS:S in any way, strictly forbidden. Modified versions of CS s .pak, .wad or .exe files are always forbidden, regardless of what they do.

    The use of any forbidden program or file by any clan member during a cup match will lead to the exclusion of the clan from the tournament. Disallowed practices include, but are not limited to, the following:

    * Exploitation of game/map bugs/exploits that give an unfair advantage such as setting your gamma too high.

    * Scripts and external programs that provide an unfair advantage, e.g. HL speed cheat.

    * Use of custom models and skins. This goes for the player models/skins as well as the weapon models/skins e.g. longer weapons to stick out from behind boxes, bright or oversized skins.

    * Use of custom map textures.

    * Use of aimbots, wallhacks and any exploitations of the engine.

    * Custom sprays that adversely affect game play, e.g. image of a Terrorist or CT, ladders, doors, guns and so on.

    The tournament admins may inspect your machine for evidence of cheats/hacks – these may be random checks or as a response to a complaint. This also includes the byoc tournament.

    * Use of hardware that simulates timed button presses, e.g. a rapid fire script on a keyboard. Binds, macros or any hardware- or software-assisted script that would enable bunny hopping, rapid fire, or any gameplay not permitted within the normal game mechanics.

    * Binding +attack to the mouse wheel or any other hardware event that may be triggered rapidly.

    In-game Techniques

    * Bug-defusing – Bug-defusing is strictly forbidden - Some part of the bomb must be visible in order to defuse it. This also counts fake-defuses, which will be penalized by -3 points, meaning a deduction of three rounds. An entire intentional bug-defuse will cost you the match.

    Example: If a team wins by 16-14 but was bug-fake-defusing on one occasion the final score will be 13-14

    * Bomb-planting – Bomb-boosting will not be permitted. This is seen as an advantage towards the terrorists. The bomb can only be planted by the bomb carrier without any intervention from team-mates.

    * Silent bomb plants will not be permitted. Abuse of this will result in a forfeit of the match.

    * Boosting – General map boosting with any number of players will be permitted. Any area that can be reached on the map is considered a valid position as long as the position is not used to exploit the map by seeing into areas that are not intended.

    * Boosting through roofs is banned (refer to map exploits).

    * Map Exploits – Taking advantage of new or known map exploits (for example ducking in vents at nuke) will result in the forfeit of the match.

    * During the Knife Round, no grenades flash,smoke and he is allowed.

    Server Setup

    Spectators & SourceTV

    * No spectators of any kind will be allowed in game other than any designated admin for that game.

    * SourceTV will be running throughout the tournament.

    * Demos will be provided once both teams featured in the demo are eliminated from the tournament.

    Serverside Settings

    * All our tournament servers will be running sourcemod scripts, the choice of these scripts will be directed by the admins in the pre tournament meeting at the event. This will be to ensure that everyone is on an even playing field by using the same config settings. Examples of scripts that may be used are warmod and zblock.

    Demos & Screenshots

    * It is advisable, although not compulsory, to record demos and take screenshots of your matches. Having these will help support your case in the event of any dispute.

    * Match demos will be auto recorded of all games and made available via 30P.se once both teams involved are eliminated from the tournament.
